Apologia Biology Experiments 3.2 & 3.3
For experiments 3.2 & 3.3, you will need to view drawings & photographs of organisms in Kingdom Protista.
These diagrams have coloring directions to help identify different parts of the organisms. You may choose to draw the cell (including organelles, cilia, plasma membranes, etc.) OR you may print off the page and color and label the picture.
Include your name, the date, sub-kingdom and phylum on each page. Below you will find links to the pages and the copy that I colored.
Paramecium:
This will download to your computer for printing.
This site has several pages. You will only need to print the first one.
The folks at the Micropolitan Museum of Microscopic Art Forms have arranged photographs of actual cells.
Since you have drawn and/or colored a sample of each organism, you should be able to identify some of the parts of each cell that you see at the Museum.
Begin by viewing the Freshwater Collection. You will want to visit Protist Parade to see Amoeba, Volvox and Euglena. In the Ciliate Centre you will find Paramecium. Also pop into the Diatom Depot & Algae Archive.
In the Marine Exhibit you will find additional Diatoms and Algae.
Please spend some time exploring the museum and note at least one interesting fact on each of your drawings.
